Session 1. Progress and future expectations.
- About the ERANet FORESTERRA: context, scientific plan, FORESTERRA Joint Call.
- Results from the mapping exercise about the existing forest research capacities and research priorities in
Mediterranean countries.
Session 2. Flash presentations of forest research departments, units and laboratories
Directors of forest research institutes are invited to make a brief presentation to introduce their institution and current research activity in the forest field.

Session 3. Networking
A networking activity focused on the strategic themes of FORESTERRA: global change, biodiversity, multipurpose forest landscapes and forest water-related services, through a truly multidisciplinary approach.
Session 4. Transnational Joint Research Units
The objective of this session is to explore the conditions and mechanisms operating in the creation of Joint Research Units across several countries.
Session 5. Meeting of directors of Forest Research Institutes and FORESTERRA partners.
A strategic debate about the scientific cooperation will place to discuss how to strengthen the European Research Area and common programmes in the future.
Session 6. Mutual opening of forest research infrastructures
FORESTERRA aims to identify forest research infrastructures (experimental sites, laboratories, large facilities, databases) of common strategic interest in order to explore possible agreements for their mutual opening.
This session will bring together, on a Mediterranean scale, key forest research infrastructures, in order to promote their coordinated use and development.
