FOREST EUROPE launched an international workshop on governance and forest law enforcement November 20th and 21st in Budapest (Hungary)
The event was jointly organized with the Regional Environmental Centre (REC). The main objectives of the workshop were to analyse, from a pan-European perspective, the current situation regarding illegal logging and trade in FOREST EUROPE countries, analyse other non-wood forest products illegally obtained, and discuss the measures can be taken to enhance governance. The goal is also to include these priorities in national forest programmes and in forest law enforcement.
Other European Organisations, such as EFI, IUFRO, the European Commission and the World Bank are also invited to participate in the workshop as partner organizations.
