FORESTERRA is an ERA-NET Project within the EU's 7th Framework Programme, with a duration of four years and a budget of almost two million Euros. FORESTERRA's objective is to improve the coordination and cooperation in Mediterranean forest research among different entities from Europe and North Africa and to open possibilities for greater scientific cooperation with other Mediterranean Climate Areas.
The FORESTERRA kickoff meeting was held in Madrid last February, and another important meeting took place in Tunis in June, 2012, where the progress of the project was presented and specific plans for future activities were devised.
The partners of FORESTERRA, an ERA-Net whose objective is to reinforce Mediterranean forest research, participated in the Steering Committee meeting of the project that took place last 18th and 19th of October in Rome, at the Unitá per la climatologia e la meteorologia applicate all'agricoltura (CRA-CMA) and at the Castelporziano Presidential Estate and Natural Reserve. Members FORESTERRA's Stakeholders Advisory Group (SAG) also participated in the event.
