A delegation of FORESTERRA is travelling to Australia
A delegation of FORESTERRA is travelling to Australia from February 16 to
25 in order to enhance collaboration and strengthen research activities by
promoting joint scientific research in forestry.
The delegation consists of David González, coordinator FORESTERRA, Ministry
of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO), Anabela Isidro, Foundation for Science
and Technology (FCT), Inazio Martinez, Director of the Mediterranean Regional
Office of the European Forest Institute (EFI) and Silvano Fares, Agricultural
Research Council (CRA), Research Center for the Soil-Plant System.
The FORESTERRA team members will hold various meetings and events, including a
reception at the Embassy of Spain in Australia, where they will be received by
the ambassador, Enrique Viguera. This reception will also be attended by members
of the Delegation of the European Union in Australia, the first secretary of the
Embassy of Portugal, the person in charge of Scientific Affairs of the Embassy of
Italy, and a representative of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research
Organisation (CSIRO) .
The agenda also includes meetings with representatives of funding agencies and researchers
from universities and research institutes from Australia, including the University of Melbourne,
the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Sciences, the Department of Agriculture, the Australian
National University, the National Genetics Research Centre and the Australian Forest Products
Association, among others.
